Senior Citizens

McMinnville honors its senior citizens as an integral part of the community. A variety of groups serve the seniors including Mid-Willamette Valley Senior Services Agency and McMinnville Senior Citizens, Inc.

McMinnville-Senior-Center.jpgThere are nine retirement and nursing care facilities in McMinnville offering a full range of managed independent living and care options.

The McMinnville Senior Center, a city facility, offers ongoing programs throughout the year, plus special excursions all over the Northwest. The center is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A senior lunch program is provided Monday through Friday by Mid-Willamette Valley Senior Services Agency.

Several transportation options are available to senior citizens in Yamhill County. Most of these services are free to senior citizens.

  • Senior Special Transportation provides door-to-door service to the elderly and handicapped needing rides to doctors’ appointments, shopping or recreation activities.
  • YAMCO Transportation, operated by YCAP, provides transportation to seniors, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Curb-to-curb transportation services are available to persons at a distance from fixed bus routes or for mobility challenged persons.
  • YCAP and the Yamhill County Special Transportation Fund will also provide transportation to medical treatments as far away as Portland.
