McMinnville Chamber Congratulates 2014 MDA Award Winners!

Rhonda and Nathan, of the McMinnville Chamber, were able to attend a fantastic annual business dinner hosted by the McMinnville Downtown Association February 20, 2014.  The event was held at The McMinnville Grand Ballroom and was a delightful gathering of local downtown businesses and associate members.

The decor was fantastic and classy, the atmosphere was light and happy, and the food was absolutely amazing.  While it is true that the Chamber won 3 of 24 auction items from the Piccadilly Auction (something Nathan had never done before, and we promise it wasn’t rigged) that wasn’t the actual highlight of the evening.

The best part of the evening was definitely celebrating the award recipients acknowledged by the McMinnville Downtown Association: Kyle Faulk (Citizens Bank) won Volunteer of the Year; La Bella Casa and Cupcake Couture won Outstanding Window Display; Rose Marie Caughran won the Downtown Beautification; Left By West won Outstanding New Sign; Linfield College won Outstanding Associate Member; Tommy’s Bicycle Shop won Outstanding Exterior Renovation; Nick’s, Peirano and Daughters, and Vino Arcanum won Outstanding Interior Renovation; The City of McMinnville was recognized with the Manager’s Award; and Harvest Fresh Grocery & Deli won the coveted Business of the Year.

As a new member to this community I (Nathan Knottingham) was moved by the support shown to one another at the event.  The standing ovation given to Kristen with Harvest Fresh was very moving.  It really proved the “Community” that everyone talks about in the Downtown core.   Congratulations to all the award recipients.  From what I’ve personally witnessed these last few months you’ve really earned this recognition.  We can’t wait to see what 2014 brings and how beautiful our Downtown will be this summer because of you all.  And then we get to show it off to the Oregon Main Street Convention!
