About the Chamber of Commerce

What is the Chamber of Commerce?

The Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization of business and professional people who are investing time and money in a community development program - working together to improve the economic, civic and cultural well-being of the area.

The McMinnville Chamber of Commerce is membership supported, receiving no city or state funds for our community and business services.

The Chamber is composed of volunteers serving as committee workers and board officers. The professional staff devotes efforts to build strong organizations and carry out the policies determined by the Board of Directors to best represent the interests of the membership.

What does the Chamber do?

The chamber is a service and action organization for business. It provides a venue through which people can take effective action for the progress of the community.

The chamber acts as a partner to member businesses by promoting their goods and services through member-to-member advertising, member-first referrals and chamber sponsored publications.

The chamber works to improve the viability of free enterprise through business input to the political process. The chamber serves as a liaison between the city council and members.

The chamber contributes to community development and livability by participating in a cooperative effort to support livability issues.

The chamber serves as the visitor information center for the surrounding area, promoting member visitor services when possible.
