The Event

The 28th Annual "sports Fanatic" Turkey Trot 8K Run, 5K Run/Walk and 2-Mile Fitness Walk Benefitting the Willamette Valley Cancer Foundation will be held in McMinnville, OR, on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 8:00 AM Registration starts at 7 AM and will be held in the Chamber parking lot at 417 NW Adams St. The starting line will be at 2nd and Wallace and will finish back at Birch and 5th.

The 8K and 5K run course is paved, scenic and fast. It includes some residential streets and is mostly flat with one good gradual hill. The course runs through the outskirts of McMinnville with the coastal range in the background. The 5K walk will follow the same run course but will be at a walkers pace. The 2-mile fitness walk is a paved residential loop.

A portion of the proceeds from the Turkey Trot benefit the Willamette Valley Cancer Foundation. The non-profit foundation was established to help care for cancer patients during treatment and to educate the community about cancer prevention.

The Turkey Trot is heating up the competition with the best dressed award! Get ready sports fanatic because this is your year. Wear your favorite team attire and go all out! Everything from headbands to face paint to shoe laces should be in support of your favorite team! Lets take McMinnville by storm as we run through the city with our best sports fanatic attire on! Best dressed ribbons for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place.

Awards

The overall men's and women's first, second and third place finishers will receive awards. Ribbons will be provided to the first, second, and third place finishers in ten different age categories. All entrants will be eligible for random prizes and don't forget the best dressed!

Registration - NOW OPEN!

Pre-registration is $28 for the run, $18 for the walk and now includes a participation t-shirt. After July 1st up until the day of the race, run registrations are $33 and walk registration is $23. Day of race registration begins 7:00 and closes at 7:45 a.m. All run and walk races offer a team discount of $3 per person. A team must have 10 or more participants to qualify.
