McMinnville, Oregon is host to the 48th Annual Turkey Rama celebration. The community festival observes the historical importance of the once thriving turkey business in the surrounding county. The three-day celebration sponsored by the McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce features entertainment from dawn to dusk offering something for everyone.

Historic Downtown's "Third Street" is blocked off to feature products from over 130 local merchants, regional crafters and a variety of commercial vendors. Visitors also enjoy a live music entertainment stage and food court. And for the young at heart there is a full carnival located at Third & Galloway.

For those seeking out "turkey", the Famous Turkey BBQ is held in the city's Wortman Park on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or until sold out! Turkeys of the human kind compete at the "Biggest Turkey Contest" held on Friday to raise funds to support Hospice of Yamhill County servicing terminally ill patients. Local business people vie for the title of Biggest Turkey based on talent (with a turkey twist) and funds raised. End the festival by dancing the night away at the Turkey 2 Step, an outdoor community dance

Each year thousands of people flock to McMinnville for the food, fun and entertainment. McMinnville is located on Highway 99W 35 miles southwest of Portland and 30 miles northwest of Salem.
